Introduction on our Neurolap story
The reorganization of speech and language is measured electrophysiologically using EEG. It has been proven several times that language diagnosis based on EEG is more sensitive than language and speech diagnosis based on pen-and-paper tasks. Therefore, the researchers developed EEG paradigms for understanding and producing language (phonology, semantics and grammar) and standardized the paradigms for the Dutch-speaking population. Therapy algorithms for the rehabilitation of aphasia were developed based on the EEG. These algorithms are currently being validated. If the outcome is favorable, the EEG diagnostics will be introduced in speech therapy rehabilitation and expanded for cognitive and motor rehabilitation.
